HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

December 6, 2025 - 2:00pm - 6:00pm
The foundation will be joining with local hosts to showcase their homes in the community. Many of the homes have recently been built or renovated. Several of the homes will be decorated in holiday decor and serve refreshments.

Featured Homes:
1: Tucker & Tessa Grewe - 208 N Lincoln Street, Battle Lake
Built in 1935, this cozy 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath home blends timeless character with thoughtful updates added by each of its owners over the years. Original wood floors and classic details preserve its traditional charm while a blend of modern updates creates a warm, inviting atmosphere right in the heart of Battle Lake. Our modern farmhouse and love for Christmas bring an extra layer of coziness, beautifully highlighting the home’s character and charm.
2: Wes & Heidi Hull - 103 Trina Lane, Battle Lake
We moved here with our 3 girls in 2005. We love our neighborhood and small town living! We have done multiple remodels including moving steps to create an open concept on the main floor, a full remodel of the basement, and just lately finished our new main bedroom and en-suite.
We have a few special antiques from our families around the home along with Heidi’s knitted creations and Wes’ nutcracker collection in the bar. We hope as you tour our home in this wonderful season that it gives you joy!

3: Aaron & Rachel Logan - 101 Trina Lane, Battle Lake
Built in 2004, we are the third family to love this home and have added to it to keep up with our family as it grew. In 2020, we added a patio to expand our outdoor options during the pandemic and began work on a renovation and addition in 2024. In the middle of the project, a kitchen fire started and took what was an “on-schedule project” and created a little chaos.
We were so thankful for the prompt response from our local firefighters and the love and care of our friends and neighbors. We are happy to be back in our new 5 bedroom, 3 bath home. We love our location and our amazing neighbors!
Help yourself to the cocoa bar. Rachel has strong Scandinavian roots, there are 10 pewter Vikings hidden in the house. See if you can find all 10. Enjoy!

4: The Hideaway at Xanadu Island - 35484 235th St, Battle Lake
Built in 1920, this lake house is a testament to timeless craftsmanship and architectural vision, with 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and a bunk room, perfect for family and friends. Commissioned by the Jones family, the residence was designed by the renowned St. Louis “Brewery Architect” Ernst C. Janssen, whose attention to detail is evident in every corner.
The construction adhered to meticulous, single-spaced, 40-page specifications. Key features include premium knot-free Douglas Fir shipped from Oregon, a fireplace with local fieldstone, transom windows with classic brass hardware to catch a summer lake breeze. Jay and Nicole purchased the island in 2018. They have since renovated the barn, and updated the 4 cabins that are also on the property.

5: Sean & Lauren Belmont - 38118 N Shore Drive, Battle Lake
Come check out our newly renovated and expanded home on the north shore of West Battle Lake! Over the past 18 months, we’ve completed an expansive remodel and addition, enhancing both functionality and space while preserving the home’s original character. Our home was built in 1987 and we purchased it ten years ago. We have since added 2 bedrooms, a playroom, and a bathroom to accommodate our 3 growing girls. Much of the renovation was made possible thanks to Shawn Hanson and his talented team, along with many local contractors and generous help from family members. Our 6-bedroom, 4 bath home features lake views from almost every room and will be dressed for the holidays with festive touches throughout. We’re excited to share our home and hope it brings joy and inspiration to all who visit.

6: Keith & Michelle Pearson - 40370 Girard Beach Rd, Battle Lake
Thirty years ago, we honeymooned on West Battle Lake in a small cabin just a few doors down, so when this one came up for sale, it felt meant to be. With help from JBS Builders, we transformed it into a cozy one-bedroom, one-bath retreat filled with warmth and charm. Now affectionately called our “Honeymoon Suite by the Lake,” it’s a peaceful year-round getaway available for both short and long-term rental.
Come see how this tiny cabin was reimagined into a dreamy lakeside escape!

7: Mark & Jane Kelly - 35878 Co Hwy 72, Battle Lake
Built in 2021 by Dave Erwin Construction–it is our “forever home” in retirement, replacing a seasonal cabin that was on the property for 20+ years. While our house is relatively new, we decorate for the holidays using a mix of old & new, with classic touches of Christmas decor that span generations:
> Collection of snowman ornaments & decor in honor of Mom
> Wooden intarsia art pieces, many with a Christmas theme, handmade from Jane’s Dad.
> Blue lit tree in memory of our son, Alex.
> Vintage Christmas decor - memories of old!
> Trees and/or decorations in every room.
> Wine bottles painted in festive red & green - win one if you can guess the number of bears displayed in our house!

8: Larry & Gay Dennison - 28359 MN-78, Battle Lake
Welcome to the Balmoral cottage. This land has been home to me since 1948. My parents, Ed and Bette Prescher bought Balmoral resort, store and Pavilion at that time. My father built our family home across the highway from the store and pavilion. My childhood home was removed from the property a few years ago. Many of the "antiques" came from Balmoral.
In 1999 we displaced one of the cabins to build our home. Our architect, "cabinologist" Dale Mulfinger, determined we were cottage people, and he was right. This is where our hearts are.
